Days 26-29

OK…so again I guess I haven’t been keeping up with daily entries.  I think I am going to give up on that and stop apologizing as long as I get in here when I have time and update.  Honestly as long as I do my weekly Weigh-Ins and post those then I would consider this a success as it keeps me focused on my goal.  So this week I have lost 2.8lbs bringing me to a total of 8.4lbs lost in 4 weeks.  That’s 2.1lbs/week and healthy weight loss.  As long as I keep that up I will be a happy camper.  I know it is early to celebrate as I am still over 300lbs, but based on this rate of loss, I will be there for 6 more weeks.  I am actually OK with that as long as I don’t go in the other direction.  I don’t mind if this takes me a year to get where I want to be as long as when I get there I stay there.  It may seem like a long way off, but I am willing to wait.  I have gained 70lbs over the past 10 years.  If I succeed in losing just that this year I will be ecstatic!  Granted 10 years ago I was not in the greatest shape either, but I am hopeful that in my journey to get back down there I will gain a lot of muscle and cardiovascular ability that I did not have back then.  I am sure I could get back down there by simply starving myself and being miserable for a year, but I would rather work my ass off all year long and be in great shape by this time next year.  I have a long way to go though.  Anyway, I think I am repeating myself so I will move on to my daily reports.

Day 26

filefile1file2

I think I am not going to comment on days that only include streak achievements anymore.  I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.  If I get fancy things or have an especially hard workout I may bring it up, otherwise it will just be pretty pictures. Smile

Day 27

file3file4file5file6

Yay 200%.

Day 28

file7file8

Boo….no workout today.  I hit my move goal and decided to be lazy.  I should probably avoid that in the future.

Day 29

file9file10file11

I meant to do the Arc for 30 minutes or more and then do a TRX workout and then do more Arc to try for my 400% goal.  That didn’t work out like I planned. Sad smile I think just having pizza rolls for dinner did not give me enough energy as I was exhausted after the Arc.  Oh well.  I need to eat better next week so this doesn’t happen.  I want that damn 400% achievement!  Winking smile

And that’s all I have for now.  I will try to do at least one more update this week, probably Sunday with my week closeout.  If I get in at least 3 more 15+ minute workouts I can still get my 7/7 achievement, but I lost my perfect workout and perfect all 3 for the week because of Wednesday.  Oh well.  I promise I will get it next week.

About Dieting

OK, I’m not going to go to in depth on this as basically no one cares about someone else’s diet unless they are their doctor or personal trainer.  I am just going to say that I have been trying to do Intermittent Fasting as it has worked well for me in the past, but that was back when I did not work out much.  Now that I am working out daily and fairly strenuously, I think I may be hurting myself by eating too little.  Most of my previous calculations with Wolfram Alpha were based on a sedentary lifestyle which I am happy to say doesn’t really describe me anymore.  Granted I am not super active because my job sits me in front of a computer most of the day, but at least I am burning a lot of calories in the gym.  So I will probably keep the Bulletproof Hot Chocolate for breakfast as it is easy and helps me think throughout the day, but I am going to move back to full healthy lunches and dinners with the occasional protein shake supplement.  This means I will have to start tracking what I eat a bit more diligently to ensure I am getting enough protein, but I will be able to eat with friends and be a bit more normal as well.

Days 19-25

I swear this is supposed to be a daily blog and not a weekly, but apparently I have not been keeping up with that.  The good news is that I have been keeping up with my workouts (well I missed one day but still going strong)  Below are some pretty pictures and what I remember from the days in question.

Day 19

filefile1file2file3file23file24file25file26file27

Holy cow that’s a bunch of pictures!  Although, I am REALLY annoyed that I did not hit 400%.  I missed it by 85 active calories.   2115/2200 that I needed.  All because I decided to take a nap before going to the Gym.  I have decided that I should not do that any more.  That being said, I took quite a few of those this week and never achieved 400%.  Next week.  I did get 300% and that is saying something. Smile and I hit my elusive new move record and new exercise record.  Obviously I will have to defeat those both again on my way to 400%, but I want that in January so I can start increasing my move goal.

Day 20

Nothing earth shattering on Monday.  Improved my streak and almost hit 200% of my move goal, but not quite.

Day 21

A bit of a low activity day, but I hit all my goals and increased my streak.  Not sure what the duplication is about.  I think my Activity App is drunk.

Day 23

file13file14file15file22

YAY! New Bling! I finally completed 7 workouts of 15 minutes or more in a week.  I thought it required a workout of 15 minutes each day, but apparently it counts multiple workouts separately. So now I only need the 400% Achievement to be fully maxed out.  I love gamification. Winking smile

Day 24

file16file17

So…this is the first day I have missed my move goal since 1/1.  Kinda sad about that, but my stomach was messed up all day and I did not feel like it was a good idea to leave the house or do any strenuous exercise.  I still met my move goal so I still am on track for my monthly Achievement, but I still hate seeing the gap there.  Gonna try to avoid that as much as possible in the future.

Day 25

file18file19file20file25file27file28file29

Finally, all caught up!  That took a while.  If I did them every day they would be more interesting and take less time.  I’m gonna aim for that.  So, because of the missed exercise goal yesterday I missed out on 2 potential achievements.  I have gotten them before, but I still like getting all the shiny things at the end of the week.  Gonna do better next week to make sure I get those.  I also want to make sure I lose more than 2lbs so I can enjoy a soda. Winking smile  I got my perfect week achievements for move and stand and of course I extended my streak to (again, not sure how this works) 26 days.

Day 18

Had a good day today.  I got to sleep in really late and although my upper back, shoulders and both sides of my neck are sore as hell from my accident, I actually feel quite good.  My lower back seems better than it was yesterday, so hopefully that will go away without any issue.  Apparently, because I did not see the impact coming I did not tense up my muscles so they should not have as much of an issue recovering.  Can’t really help the whiplash though.  Getting hit by someone going ~40mph is going to do that to you.  Anyway, Had an amazing dinner tonight of Pork Steaks (they call them pork chops but these things are massive) at Perry’s in downtown Austin with my wife and a few of our friends.  It was amazing.  I then went up to the gym and did the Arc Trainer for 22 minutes to finalize my perfect week of fitness on the Apple Watch.  It is nice that the Arc Trainer is low impact so I can do it despite my soreness and still get my heart rate up.  Anyway, here are my stats and Achievements galore!

file4file5file6file7file8file9file10

Below is a visual of my rings since getting my Apple Watch.  I have only missed 2 and one of them was not possible because I did not get my watch set up until after noon that day.  Luckily the Exercise ring I missed will not make me miss getting my perfect move month. Winking smile
